ZGO Recommends: FUSE!

As awesome as this video is, it doesn’t do Fuse ANY justice! A co-op game, that allows you to “leap” from character to character (if playing single player, or if there are open slots during co-op) and each of the assassins have distinctive talents and weapons? Insomniac Games, FUSE is IT! I’d heard of Fuse in passing, but no real raves about it online. A few days ago though, I heard that Insomniac Games was releasing a demo on PSN and  something just kept bugging me to download it and I’m so glad that I did. Also, I love a demo with a bit of humor in between– there was a loading screen, with a fake subliminal message telling me to go buy Fuse and that Quantum Leap deserves another run ( believe it or not, this is one of the moments that sold me. I LIVE for Quantum Leap!).

I was a little nervous about the leap mechanic, but it works so well with Fuse. Whether you’re leaping as a strategic move or like me leaping to another body because the present one was dying (I used the new body to revive my old one if I was close enough), it’s fun as hell and it  really gave me a good feel for each of the characters and their weapon specialties. The Leadfoot (boss fight), was HARD and kept me thinking on my feet, vaulting  over  pipes and window sills,  escape my mechanical enemies and grab up ammo while tumbling to safety.

Do yourself a favor– download this demo, play it by yourself, then convince your friends to do the same and play together.  If you love the trailer/demo and want to learn even more about Fuse, make sure to stop by  the Fuse- Official Site !
